Book List
Any guy knows that shopping for a gal is tough. Near impossible. I usually go with flowers. I’ve found that clothing is a good choice when shopping for my wife. I don’t go near shoes. Just don’t. We guys look smarter if we just stay away. I don’t get it.
Know what drives me even more nuts? Shopping for moms. That right there is certifiably impossible. What’s it say when you get them something to cook with? “Make me food.” That goes over well. And you know moms never ask for anything either. I think my mom has received flowers religiously for the past 10 years on Mother’s Day. And if it’s not flowers I get her something smelly. It’s the thought that counts. In my mind though the smelly stuff is much more thoughtful than the flowers. Everyone knows what I’m talking about here. We’ve all been in the mall, probably aggravated by the sheer number of people (go at 11am on Sundays–it helps), and walked by the “smelly shop.” That’s right. The place where you become nauseous just standing in front of it. Guys understand that when you go in there you can just expect to have a headache for the following two hours. Women however like the smells. Beats me.
What to get a guy though? Women seem to think that’s hard. Here’s an idea: gadgets, anything with buttons, lifetime warrantied tools, or a garmin (that way he’ll honestly never be lost). Easy. Personally, I like books.
We all know we’re going to get gifts at some point or another so why not just follow the wedding trend and make a list. I’ve done it. And here it is.
